We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join our growing team. You will play a crucial role in building the foundation of our innovative social platform, bridging the gap between traditional web2 infrastructure and the Solana blockchain. You will be a key contributor to the design, development, and deployment of our core backend services, with a particular focus on secure and scalable integration with the Solana network. You will be self-directing, take ownership of your work, and collaborate effectively within a flat, agile organization.  

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.

• Implement and manage secure integrations with third-party wallet providers and Solana RPC endpoints.

• Design and build well-documented, high-performance RESTful APIs for use by our frontend and third-party partners.

• Work closely with our CTO and other engineers to ensure seamless data flow between our off-chain systems and the Solana blockchain.

• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality and reliability.

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices across the engineering organization.

• Proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the Solana ecosystem and Web3 technologies.

• Contribute to architectural decisions and help shape the technical direction of our platform.

• Understand the end-to-end flow of our application, from frontend to blockchain.

• Think customer-centrically in all aspects of development.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in backend development, with a strong emphasis on Node.js and TypeScript.

• Proven experience building and deploying production-grade APIs.

• Solid understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven architectures.

• Experience working with relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.

• Experience integrating with third-party APIs and SDKs.

• Strong understanding of security best practices, particularly in the context of Web3.

• Familiarity with Solana concepts (accounts, transactions, programs) and the Solana Web3.js library. Deep Solana experience is not required, but a willingness to learn is essential.

• Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, etc.).

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.  

• A passion for building innovative and impactful products.

• Experience working with cloud platforms, specifically AWS
